In the fiscal year 2022 Siemens’ R&D expenditures reached €5.6 bn. Some 46.900 employees working in various research departments across Siemens created 4650 inventions and filed 2650 patent applications – climbing to 5th place in the European Patent Office’s patent ranking.
Federated intelligence for industrial document analysis
Siemens has a dual role in OpenFLaaS: As a large industrial technology company, we contribute to the development and validation of industrial use cases, data acquisition and the implementation of demonstrators and prototypes. On the academic side, we contribute to research work packages in the fields of document representation learning, federated knowledge extraction and federated learning for low-resource technical domains.
